Fourteen people, one office, a short drive from everything we have built.
Averline was started in 2009 by an architect and a banker who kept meeting at the same zoning hearings. Our first project was a four-unit rowhouse on a lot the city had written off. We still own it.

Where we come from

Nadia Okafor spent twelve years designing schools and libraries before she decided she wanted a say in what got built, not only how. Thomas Brennan financed other people's subdivisions and wanted to build something he would walk past.
The firm has grown slowly. We have finished eleven projects and sold two. The rest we manage ourselves from an office in the Warehouse District, upstairs from a bakery that was our first retail tenant.
